▍ 聯合國永續發展目標 (SDGs)是什麼?

開場沒多久,君璽老師詢問大家 您特別在意或擔心的議題是什麼? 「海洋汙染」「糧食問題」「全球暖化」「教育資源不平等」...等與會者拋出他們的關注的議題,而這些都涵蓋在17項聯合國永續發展目標,其實SDGs議題是許多人正在關注的問題。

▍聯合國永續發展目標涉及多個領域專業!

聯合國將17項永續發展目標以社會進步、經濟成長、環境保護作為區分,又如「目標2:消除飢餓」同時涵蓋經濟成長與社會進步兩個面向,而「目標17:全球夥伴」是三個面向的交集,由此可知聯合國永續發展目標是需要跨領域的協調與整合,君璽老師也舉例說,用音樂譜製一首關於全球暖化的歌曲,是否更讓人容易想關注這個議題?因此,聯合國永續發展目標,不僅需要環工專業人才,也需要環境、經濟、教育...等各領域人才,一定有需要各領域的展現其專業的地方。

 

▍教學分享

▶ 君璽老師課堂設計安排學生小組討論,剛開始小組間互動都很冷淡,為了提升小組團體動能,君璽老師會在課堂安排有趣的小組活動,除了提升課堂專注度,也培養小組的團隊合作,而在學期末時小組間互動都很熱絡。

▶ 過去君璽老師有收過學生完成複製貼上的報告!因此,改變作業形式,請學生改繳交教案設計,讓學生必須得自己完成作業。

▶ 君璽老師會視學生吸收狀況調整課程教材難度,或者改變教學方式。同時,君璽老師發現學生其實喜歡跟老師聊聊天。

What are Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? 

Not long after the event began, Professor Chiun-Shee asks everyone, what are some issues you were concerned about or worried about. The participants mentioned the issues such as ocean pollution, food security, global warming, inequality in educational resources, etc. All of the issues mentioned by participants are included in the 17 SDGs proposed by the United Nations, which are matters of concern for many people. 

 

※Teaching TIPS: Teaching TIPS: To encourage students to participate in class, Professor Chiun-Shee gives extra credits to students who raise their hands and express their opinions. 

 

SDGs involves multiple professional domains! 

United Nations divides the 17 SDGs into social progress, economic growth and environmental protection, however many of the SDGs cover more than one of the aspects. For example, SDGs 2: Zero Hunger, covers both economic growth and social progress. On the other hand, SDGs 17: Partnership for the Goals, covers all aspects. This shows that the SDGs proposed by United Nations requires interdisciplinary coordination and integration. Professor Chuin-Shee shares an example of interdisciplinary approach on SGDs. Whether making a song about global warming would make people more likely to pay attention to this issue? In conclusion, to achieve the SDGs, requires not only environmental engineers, but also experts from various fields like social, economy and education to showcase their expertise.  

 

Teaching Insights 

Professor Chuin-Shee arrange group discussions in her classroom. Initially, there were little interactions among students. To enhance group dynamics, Professor Chuin-Shee will arrange interesting group activities, which helps improve focus in class and teamwork within the groups. By the end of the semester, interaction within the groups became lively. 

 

In the past, Professor Chuin-Shee had received student reports that were copied and pasted! To make sure students do their own work, she changed the format of assignment into creating their own lesson plans.  

 

Professor Chuin-Shee adjust the difficulty of the course material or teaching method based on how much the students’ learning progress. Professor Chuin-Shee also found that students enjoy having conversations with the Professor.
