The “Action! Action Research” interuniversity learning event is being held by Tunghai University on October 25th. Tunghai University has invited representatives of the Ministry of Education, XPlorer Project Office, and 42 members of the team implementing the XPlorer project at eleven universities to join this event.
During the morning session, the Director of the Office of Experimental Learning, I-Min Tso, is leading the participants to experience “Tree Canopy Exploration” and “The Ecology of Bees and Sustainable Using Exploration”, aiming to cultivate students’ perseverance and sustainability literacy through practical experience. The participants are actively engaging in the activities, and they agree that featured experiential learning courses, which move beyond traditional textbooks, provide students with a deeper understanding.
The “XPlorer Project: A University Competency Based Education Initiative in the Humanities and Social Sciences for the New Normal Society” expects universities to make creative and innovative breakthroughs to university affairs and problems encountered at teaching sites with the spirit of action research. During the afternoon session, the CEO of the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Taipei Medical University, Ming-Chi Wu, is leading the discussion on pilot projects and action research. He emphasizes the importance of establishing repeatable models to guide universities in observing and assessing pain points, leading to innovation. In addition, Professor Po-Han Wu from the Graduate Institution of Education at Tunghai University is sharing his own teaching experience in a course that incorporates action research, and bringing different teaching methods to participants.
